HE GOT MY LETTERS!!

I’m hoping and praying I get one today, but at least I know he’s getting mine. I’m so happy I could cry. I don’t know if I can sit through class without freaking out…guess we’ll find out the hard way…

  • Me: So much to do today...paper to write, oral exam to prepare for, anatomy exam to study for, biology final to study for, italian final to study for, speech & hearing exam to study for...
  • Me: God, gotta paint my nails, wash dishes, clean my room...take a nap...I can do homework tonight, I guess...
  • Me (later): JESUS CHRIST WHY DID I DO THIS TO MYSELF.

Giving Thanks

Thanksgiving was yesterday, but we’re supposed to be thankful every day, right? I’m thankful for so much. My family, my friends, my education, my coworkers, the good health of my loved ones, my oddball pets, and so much more.

Until recently, I didn’t know anyone who was active duty. Other than two great uncles, a great aunt, and one of my dad’s cousins, I certainly didn’t know any marines. About three weeks ago, my friend left for USMC basic training. He’s at Parris Island and is missing the holiday season completely.

I’m starting to think more and more about the men and women who miss holidays, birthdays, and so much more because they’re stationed overseas. I am so grateful for all of their sacrifices and the sacrifices of their loved ones. I’m just starting to see how difficult it truly is to put your country before yourself.

So I wanted to take this opportunity to thank our troops. If anyone wants to help me put together some holiday care packages to send overseas, send me a message! Let’s do our best to not only support our troops, but also show them how thankful we really are!
